Dr. Kapil Gumte is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the domain of Operations, Supply Chain & Decision Science at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu. He has a total experience of 14 plus years with a blend of Industry (Data Scientist) and Academia. He has written many books and book chapters. He has presented and published quality papers in reputed conferences and journals of international and national publishers. Also, Dr. Kapil has submitted research proposals to various government agencies such as NITI AAYOG, ANRF, DBT, DST, ICSSR, MEFCC NMHS, and private agencies as well. 

He has an avid interest in the domains of Modeling, Optimization, Simulation, Data Science-Machine Learning (Ai-ML), Data Analytics, Statistics, Stochasticity, Uncertainty Handling, Operation Research, Operation Management, Project Management, Product Management, Research Methodology, Business & Data Analytics, Industry 4.0, and Industry 5.0. He has worked on projects of Biofuels, Electronic waste Management, Circular Economics, Electic Vehicles, Green Hydrogen, Tourism, Block Chain Technology, Health Sector, Project & Product Management, Humanitarin Logistic, Agriculture, Entrepreneurship etc., and is still expanding the horizon to other domains as well as per market demand.

He is adept at Administrative work. Currently, he is the Chairperson of the Anti-Ragging. Previously he has excellently performed the duties as Co-Chairperson of Research & Development and Chairperson of IPM (BBA).
